Monastic Tradition
Adherents of the Pestilent Haze draw plague into their very beings, folding it into their energy and becoming one with the disease. Monks who follow this tradition wander, often following or even preceding waves of pestilence. Some walk with caution, their touch measured, unleashing sickness only where dense populations must be culled. Others revel in the miasma spreading as far and fast as possible.
Your miasmic plague is a unique, magical affliction that may take many forms that you weave through your deep connection to the contagion. The plague manifestations table offers suggestions for what magical form your signature disease takes as it spreads, as well as its hallmark symptoms.

You have brewed and concentrated disease within yourself, and may now push manifestations of it outward. You gain the following benefits:
Claws of Pestilence. Your nails grow into a set of vermin-like claws. You may deal slashing damage when you hit with an unarmed strike, instead of the usual bludgeoning damage. Whenever you hit a creature with an attack from your flurry of blows feature, you may deal extra necrotic damage equal to a roll of of your martial die.
Miasmic Plague. Whenever you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you may expend 1 ki point to force the creature to succeed on a CON saving throw, or be cursed for 1 minute. While cursed in this way, the creature is poisoned, and takes extra necrotic damage from your unarmed strikes equal to a roll of your martial die. A creature may take this damage only once per turn. A cursed creature may repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. Additionally, you may forego the extra necrotic damage done by your claws of pestilence feature to use this feature without expending a ki point.
Through observation and meditation, you are attuned to the nature of pestilence, and the creatures believed to carry it. You gain the following benefits:
Inoculation. You gain advantage on saving throws to avoid or end being poisoned, and against diseases. You gain resistance to poison and necrotic damage.
Vermin Kinship. Through chittering sounds and hand gestures, you are able to communicate simple concepts to vermin, such as rats, pigeons, and insects, and you gain the ability to decipher their noises and motions. Vermin lack the intelligence to convey or understand sophisticated concepts, but friendly vermin could relay what they have seen or heard in the recent past. Additionally, you may cast the @animal messenger spell, using WIS as your spellcasting ability, targeting a Tiny beast that is considered vermin and thought to spread plague and disease. You may cast it once per long rest.
The strain of your plague becomes more virulent and deadly. Whenever you deal necrotic or poison damage, you may ignore the target's resistances to those types.
You may unleash a cloud of miasma upon your enemies. As an action, you may expend 2 ki points to magically unleash a cloud of miasma in a 20ft. radius sphere centered on you. Each creature of your choice in that area must make a CON saving throw, taking necrotic damage equal to 2 rolls of your martial die, or half as much on a successful one. Additionally, on a failure, the target is cursed by your miasmic plague.
The strength of your miasmic plague has increased, granting you the following benefits:
Choking Miasma. CON saving throws against your miasmic plague are made with disadvantage.
Scurrying Spread. Whenever you use your step of the wind feature, until the end of your turn, whenever you enter a space within 5ft. of any creature of your choice, it must succeed on a CON saving throw, or be cursed by your miasmic plague. A creature makes this save only once per turn.
Your plague has reached the height of its potency, and its symptoms rapidly afflict your foes. Your miasmic plague ignores a target's immunity to being poisoned. Additionally, whenever you deal necrotic damage to a creature cursed by your miasmic plague, it takes extra necrotic damage equal to a roll of your martial die.
